Bloomington PrairieThunder rookie Loic Lacasse earned his fifth International Hockey League award this season when he was named the Goalie of the Month for March, league officials announced Tuesday.

Lacasse finished with a 5-2-1-1 record after starting the month without a loss in regulation in five straight games. His only losses were in a shootout and a 1-0 overtime loss at Kalamazoo.

The 6-foot-2 Granby, Quebec native posted a 2.43 goals against average and a .935 save percentage in just over 493 minutes of action. He made 290 saves, allowing only 20 goals for the month.

Lacasse, who has a 17-17-2-3 overall record which is a club record for victories in a season, has earned IHL rookie of the week honors and goalie of the week honors twice each this season.

He is the second PrairieThunder player to earn a monthly award. Former Bloomington player Jason Ralph was the Forward of the Month in October.
