BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Right winger Henry Kuster of the Bloomington PrairieThunder has been named the International Hockey League's "Player of the Week" for his performance in three games last week.

Kuster, who joined the team five games ago after being obtained in a trade with Muskegon, recorded five points by scoring one goal and dishing out four assists. He also finished the week with a plus-one rating.

The 31-year-old Stony Plain, Alberta native has made an immediate impact since joining the team by chalking up nine points on three goals and six assists. He ranks 11th in the IHL in scoring with 38 points on 15 goals and 23 assists between his time at Muskegon and Bloomington.

Kuster is the fifth Bloomington player to earn a league award this year. Other players earning awards have been Jon Booras, Scott Fankhouser, Ryan Ludzik and Don Parsons.

The PrairieThunder (13-22-1, 27 points) returns to action Thursday with a 6 p.m. game at Flint. Bloomington then begins a four-game home stand Friday with a 7:05 p.m. contest against Muskegon at U.S. Cellular Coliseum.

Bloomington meets Fort Wayne in back-to-back games on Jan. 25 at 4:05 p.m. and Jan. 28 at 7:05 p.m. at U.S. Cellular Coliseum. The PrairieThunder ends its home stand on Jan. 30 against Flint at 7:05 p.m.

The Jan. 28 game was originally scheduled for Feb. 14 but was changed to accommodate a scheduling conflict at U.S. Cellular Coliseum. Tickets for the Feb.14 will be honored at the Jan. 28 contest.
