BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Andrew Martin stopped all 33 shots he faced to help the Bloomington PrairieThunder to a 6-0 victory over Quad City at U.S. Cellular Coliseum before 2,359 people Saturday night in International Hockey League action.

The win moved the PrairieThunder record to 14-8-1-2 (31 points) ahead of Sunday's 4:05 p.m. rematch against the Mallards at the iwireless Center in Moline.

Jamie Carroll scored the PrairieThunder's first goal off an assist by defenseman Matt Frick with 12:05 remaining in the first period. Bloomington then erupted for three goals in the second period for a 4-0 advantage.

Defenseman Justin Sawyer scored only the third goal in his eight-year career 2:19 into second period to start the barrage. He was assisted by Travis Banga. Billy Bagron added the second score with 6:59 left in the period on assists by Jon Booras and Zac Pearson.

Craig Macdonald scored the final goal of the period five minutes later on assists by Chase Watson and Carroll. The PrairieThunder added two goals in the third on Brett Holmberg's short-handed effort with an assist to Zac Pearson.

Robin Gomez scored the final goal on assists by Holmberg and Watson. Quad City was shut out on three power play attempts and Bloomington was unsuccessful on one.
