BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Paulo Colaiacovo recorded the third shutout in the fourth year of Bloomington PrairieThunder hockey Saturday night to lead his team to a 4-0 International Hockey League victory over Dayton before 4,753 people at U.S. Cellular Coliseum.

It kept the PrairieThunder undefeated in four home openers and moved the team's season record to 2-2 (4 points). Bloomington returns to action with home games Friday against Fort Wayne and Saturday opposite Flint. Both games start at 7:05 p.m.

Robin Gomez had a goal and an assist, including the first goal of the game with 7:21 left in the first period on a power play off assists by Russ Smith and Brian Boulay.

Adam Tomkow and Bill Bagron had second period goals for the PrairieThunder. Tomkow's effort came with 12:29 on assists by Jamie Carroll and Craig Macdonald. Bagron's goal came with 1:08 left in the second on assists by Ryan Finnerty and Smith.

Zac Pearson scored the final Bloomington goal on an assist by Gomez with 14:40 left in the game. The loss dropped Dayton's record to 1-2-1-0.

Colaiacovo stopped all 26 shots he faced and fended off six power play attempts. The PrairieThunder had 36 shots and was 1-for-3 on the power play.
