
PrairieThunder to Honor Guinn

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Bloomington PrairieThunder officials announced Monday that it will honor deceased player Rob Guinn by presenting an award bearing his name at the team's post-season banquet April 14 at the Chateau in Bloomington.
The "Rob Guinn Memorial Award" will be presented to the team's top defenseman as part of the banquet's program. Guinn, a defenseman for the PrairieThunder during the 2007-08 season, was fatally injured in an automobile accident in July, 2008.
Other awards to be presented at the banquet, which begins at 6 p.m., include Most Valuable Player; Most Points; Rookie of the Year: Community Man of the Year; Unsung Hero; Player's Player; and Coach's Award.
The buffet-style banquet is open to the public. Fans wishing to attend can purchase tickets for $20 at the team's last home game Friday at 7:05 p.m. on the concourse level or by calling Bryan Bloodworth at 309-434-2691.
The event includes entertainment and a cash bar. Formal attire is requested. The Chateau is located at 1601 Jumer Drive, Bloomington.
