Bloomington PrairieThunder News Release
BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Bloomington PrairieThunder sent rookie defenseman Andrew Lackner to the Chicago Hounds on Wednesday to complete an earlier trade for Greg Koehler.
Lackner played in 40 of the PrairieThunder's 44 games, scoring three goals with five assists. He also represented the team in the United Hockey League All-Star Classic last month in Fort Wayne along with Alex Goupil.
"It's unfortunate that Lackner had to be a part of the trade, but we feel Greg Koehler is a player who can really help us on the offensive side," said PrairieThunder coach Derek Booth.
In other PrairieThunder news, defenseman Jarad Bourassa was handed a four-game suspension by the league for a major and game misconduct penalty for kneeing during the Chicago game on Sunday at U.S. Cellular Coliseum.
Bourassa, who has scored seven goals with five assists for 12 points, will miss the team's two-game road swing to Elmira (N.Y.) Friday and Saturday, along with home games versus Rockford and Quad Cities next week. He will be eligible to play Feb. 10 at home against Fort Wayne.
Also, defenseman Dion Hyman, who has been out three weeks with a leg injury, is due to come off the injured reverse list Friday and should see action at Elmira.
