Chicago Hounds News Release

Hoffman Estates, IL. Head Coach Greg Puhalski announced today that the Chicago Hounds have acquired Bloomington Prairie Thunder defenseman, Andrew Lackner. Earlier this month, Chicago shipped veteran Greg Koehler to the Thunder for future considerations; this trade will mark the completion of that deal. A native of Elmira, Ontario, Lackner spent four seasons at Niagara University and this is his first year playing professional hockey. With Bloomington this season, he has accumulated 3 goals, 5 assists and 26 PIM's in 40 games.

Lackner represented Bloomington in the UHL All-Star game earlier this season and Puhalski is pleased to have Andrew on his blue-line, "He's a great competitor and there is a reason he was named to the all-star game in his first year. Losing Greg was tough, but in order to get you have to give," remarked Puhalski.

Chicago is in the midst of the best stretch of hockey they have played all season garnering six out of a possible eight points last week. Lackner will jump on board to help the Hounds this weekend when they battle the Fort Wayne Komets on Friday and the Flint Generals on Saturday.

Chicago plays at the Sears Centre which is an 11,000-seat state of the art multi-purpose family entertainment, sports and cultural center under construction in Hoffman Estates' Prairie Stone Business Park. Located right at I-90 and Route 59, it will host more than 135 events each year, and is projected to attract more than 750,000 annual visitors.

Season ticket, sponsorship packages, and single game tickets are now available -- for more information on the Chicago Hounds and their inaugural season, please call 847.882.2255 or visit www.chicagohounds.com.
