
PrairieThunder Defeats Mudbugs 2-1 in Overtime for 4th Straight Victory

John Snowden scored at the 3:48 mark of overtime to give the Bloomington PrairieThunder a hard fought 2-1 win over the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs on Thursday night in Louisiana. For the veteran Snowden it was his team leading eighth game winning goal and fifth overtime goal. The Bloomington defense and goaltender Marco Emond overcame the Mudbugs first period onslaught where the PrairieThunder was outshot 17-4. Marco Emond stopped 33 of 34 shots for his 22nd win of the season.The start of the game was delayed thirty minutes due to a power outage at the CenturyTel Center.
Bloomington (30-16-4) again climbs to within three points of second place Colorado in the CHL's Turner (Northern) Conference. And the PThunder still has three games in hand on Colorado and four games on first place Rapid City. The victory was the PrairieThunder's fourth in a row. Bloomington has now earned points in eight straight games while going 6-0-2. Bossier-Shreveport's record is now 28-21-3 as the Mudbugs remain in third place in the CHL's Berry (Southern) Conference.
Bloomington next heads to Allen, Texas on Saturday night to face the Southern Conference leading Allen Americans at 7:00pm and the game can be heard on WEZC-FM (95.9), WJBC.com, or you can watch the game at BlueLine Nightclub, located at 602 N. Main Street in downtown Bloomington.
The PrairieThunder's next home game is Friday, March 4th @ 7:05pm vs. Fort Wayne at U.S. Cellular Coliseum.
