(Bakersfield, Calif., November 24, 2009) - The Bakersfield Jam are proud to announce that practice player Taylor Mullenax has signed with the Ulriken Eagles of Bergen, Norway. Mullenax will head overseas on Friday, Nov. 27 to join the team, which plays in Norway's top professional league (the BLNO).

"I'm just really thankful for my time here in Bakersfield, and to have the opportunity to play with the caliber of guys that are here in camp," said Mullenax. "I learned so much in just the ten days I've spent here with Coach Voigt and the guys. Even though I'm moving on now, this is an experience I'll never forget."

Mullenax graduated with a marketing degree from St. Edwards University, where he starred for the Hilltoppers' basketball team as a senior in 2008-09. His 15.1 ppg and 5.9 rpg both led the team, and he finished the year with a remarkable 65.5% FG shooting.

"This will be a great opportunity for Taylor to take his first step as a pro player," said Jam head coach Will Voigt, who held the same position for the Eagles from 2003-06. "He has worked extremely hard here as a practice player, and I know that he will do well in Norway."

Though Mullenax knows very little about Norway as a country, he is extremely excited to join the Eagles and Norwegian head coach Geir Bangstad to begin his professional basketball career.

"I've never been, but from what Coach Voigt said it's paradise so I'm really looking forward to it," Mullenax said. "They just want me to come in and be a scorer and rebounder, which I know all about."

The Eagles, who are allowed two foreign players on their roster, will also sign Paul Hafford, who participated in the Jam's San Francisco Tryout Camp.
