Power Start Season with Win in Brampton

(Brampton, ON -) The Mississauga Power secured a win against their Peel Region rivals, the Brampton A's this evening. The Power looked dominant, holding a large lead throughout the game. Despite a run at the beginning of the third quarter, the Power ended the game with a 111-97 win. Omar Strong led all scorers with 31 points including seven three pointers. Travis Releford chipped in with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 3 steals. The A's were paced by Edmondson Tyshwan with 23 points and 7 assists.

The Power sprinted off to an 11-4 lead behind 6 quick points from #1 overall pick, Jordan Weidner. At the end of the first, the Power held a 29-23 lead.

The Power brought more energy in the second quarter as the team capitalized on points off turnovers and strong three point shooting to take a convincing 58-43 lead into the half.

The A's mounted a slight comeback in the third, cutting the lead to less than 10 points but the Power were able to regain a strong 87-72 lead with great defense and a balanced scoring attack.

In the fourth, the Power never looked back, holding the A's from a distance en route to the 111-97 win.
