Power Play Goals Lead Huntsville over RiverKings

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. -- The Huntsville Havoc (7-13-1) notched two power play goals in the second period as the Mississippi RiverKings (10-9-3) fell to the Havoc for the first time this season 4-1 in Huntsville on Saturday night.

Huntsville struck first midway through the opening frame. Aaron McGill tallied his third goal as a member of the Havoc, as he buried a pass from Ian Boots past Matthew Krahn on a two-on-one to send Huntsville up 1-0 after one.

Two power play goals put the Havoc up by three in the second. With Tyler Sheldrake service a double-minor for roughing, Justin Fox found the back of the net on a wrist shot from the top of the circle to beat Krahn glove side to put Huntsville up by two. Less than two minutes later, Colin Reddin tallied his eighth goal of the season to put the Havoc up three. The 'Kings cut the deficit to two as Todd Hosmer collected his fourth goal in three games on a rebound to beat Dan McWhinney as the visitors trailed 3-1 in the second intermission.

In the third, Huntsville extended their lead when Bill Baker poked the puck past Krahn to finish the scoring for the Havoc as they knocked off the 'Kings for the first time this season, 4-1 in Huntsville.

Matthew Krahn (7-5-2) stopped 18 of 22 shots against in the loss. Dan McWhinney (6-10-1) held the RiverKings to one goal on 46 shots en route to the victory.
