Power announce packed 2007 promotional schedule

(Charleston, W.Va.) - The West Virginia Power, South Atlantic League Affiliate for the Milwaukee Brewers announced their 2007 promotional schedule on Monday. The Power worked all off season to bring a jammed packed promotional schedule to Appalachian Power Park for the summer of 2007.

For each game, Showtime begins one hour prior to the game with a live show from the ballpark featuring radio host Andy "Bull" Barch which will be broadcast on ESPN Radio 1490. When the games begin the Power have a collection of giveaways, entertainment acts, theme nights, and more throughout the summer.

The schedule includes a host of giveaway nights throughout the summer highlighted by a magnet schedule giveaway on Opening Day, Thursday, April 5, a Power Hat Giveaway on April 21, a Charlies Hat Giveaway on May 12, and more.

The Power will also welcome multiple national and local entertainers to Appalachian Power Park this summer. The lineup includes a visit from Myron Noodleman on June 21, John Charney on June 15, Bob Vance of NBC's The Office on August 11, as well as a variety of local performance groups throughout the season.

The Power have packed the schedule with a bevy of theme nights to entertain fans throughout the summer. The team leads off with "Pink Power Night" to support the efforts of the Susan G. Komen Foundation on Saturday April 7. The team will dawn the ever popular pink jerseys and auction them at the end of the night to benefit Susan G. Komen. May 4 will mark the second annual Super Hero Night for the Power and fans are encouraged to join the staff in dressing as their favorite Super Hero. Other popular theme nights throughout the season include Cinco de Mayo on May 5, Jimmy Buffett Night July 6, Irish Night July 26, and the World's Largest Office Party on August 11.

The Power will carry on the tradition of Two-for-Tuesdays while adding a slight twist. Each Tuesday home game through the season is themed as Mardi Gras Fat Two-for-Tuesday featuring a Mardi Gras parade along with those great Tuesday specials which make Tuesdays a Charleston baseball institution. Each Thursday (excluding Opening Night) once again is Buck Night featuring $3.00 Box seats, $1.00 Bleacher Reserved seats as well as $1.00 hot dogs, soda, and 12-ounce draft and fountain beverages. On Friday nights at the ballpark we will continue the Fireworks extravaganza series.

New to the schedule this year is Monday Madness, Workin' Women's Wednesdays, Saturday Nights Live, and Family Fun Day Sundays. Every Monday will feature a salute to something wild and wacky, including a tribute to cheese and a salute to indoor plumbing. Wednesdays will be all about the women featuring great specials and prizes. Saturdays will feature live entertainment and on Sundays the Power will focus on a fun family outing.
