Ports to Welcome 1 Millionth Fan

STOCKTON, Calif. -The Stockton Ports are excited to announce that the franchise will welcome the one millionth fan to enter the Banner Island Ballpark gates this season, and expect to host that historic fan at the 7:05 p.m. game against archrival San Jose on Thursday, July 30.
Banner Island Ballpark has been the home of the Stockton Ports since 2005, and the Ports have hosted more than 205,000 fans at the waterfront stadium in each season of its existence. The Ports set a franchise attendance record in 2007 by welcoming 218,497 fans through the gates that season, and set a single-game attendance record on July 3, 2008 by hosting 6,285 fans.
"We are thrilled to be able to welcome the one millionth fan in stadium history this week," said Ports President and General Manager Pat Filippone. "It's quite a historical benchmark, and we are proud to reach this plateau this year. This accomplishment definitively shows the loyalty of Ports fans and reflects on the family-fun atmosphere we produce here at Banner Island Ballpark. We're truly excited to celebrate this accomplishment as we head into the final stretch of the season, and as the team makes a run for the second-half title."
The Ports will be recognizing the one millionth fan on-field in a pre-game ceremony, which includes the throwing of the ceremonial first pitch at the Friday, August 7 game against the Inland Empire 66ers. The fan will also be awarded a prize basket filled with gifts contributed by several Ports sponsors, such as Woodbridge Winery, Romano's Macaroni Grill, BJ's Restaurant, California Car Wash, In-N-Out Burger, as well as a trip for two to Las Vegas courtesy of Allegiant Air.
