
Ports To Host Light The Night Walk On October 24

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Ports are proud to host the Annual Light the Night Walk on Saturday, October 24 at Banner Island Ballpark.
"Banner Island Ballpark has been the venue for several run/walk fundraisers since its foundation in 2005, and the Ports are proud to partner with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society for the 2009 Light the Night Walk," said Ports Director of Marketing Justin Gray.
"This event supports a worthy cause, and the Ports are proud to give back to their community not only through their own organization, but also through hosting special events like the Light the Night Walk," Gray added.
Hundreds of participants from San Joaquin County are expected to participate in this year's Light the Night Walk, which is two miles long. Teams of friends, families and co-workers raise funds for cancer research being conducted across the world and for services for blood cancer patients in the area through the event.
The event will also feature inspirational stories and discussions about blood cancer support. Check-in is at 5:30 p.m. and the Opening Ceremony is slated to begin at 6 p.m. The Light the Night Walk will begin at 6:30 p.m.
