On Saturday night, Corey Perry established a new franchise record by extending his point-scoring streak to 17 games in the Pirates 5-4 overtime victory over the Springfield Falcons in front of standing room only crowd of 7,034 at the Cumberland County Civic Center.

Today Corey Perry was named the Pirates Player of the Week. Perry scored eight points this past week (5 goals, 3 assists). On Wednesday, Perry will join "The Morning Jab" on WJAB 1440AM/95.5FM at 8:00 a.m.

Saturday, January 7th vs. Providence Bruins 7:05 PM - Hannaford Night with the Pirates! 2,000 Fans will receive a sample Hannaford Inspirations Stout Mustard or Hannaford Inspirations Chipotle Grilling Sauce courtesy of Hannaford upon exiting the game.

Sunday, January 8th vs. Hartford Wolf Pack 4:05 PM - The first 1,000 people in the arena will receive foam pucks courtesy of UnumProvident. UnumProvident and the Portland Pirates will also honor Maine's teachers for educating the leaders of tomorrow. The "Starting 6" members of the UnumProvident 2005 Educator's Hall of Fame will be recognized.

"Motorsports Weekend" on January 13th & 14th- The weekend starts on Friday, January 13, 2006 the Pirates host the Providence Bruins at 7:05 p.m. This game will include many events that feature a motorsports theme. On Saturday, 2005 American Idol, Carrie Underwood will host a concert at the Cumberland County Civic Center to benefit the Jeff Gordon Foundation. Tickets for the concert are $45.00 and are on sale now at the Cumberland County Civic Center. Fans can visit the Civic Center box office or call 775-3458. Concert attendees will be treated with a complimentary collectible granite coaster of Carrie Underwood provided by Get-Etched.com.

IN THE COMMUNITY

On Thursday, January 5th, Pirates players will present the Pirates "Goals for Success" program at the Fred P. Hall School in Portland from 1:30-2:30 p.m. The program is sponsored by Healthy Maine Partnerships and Pepsi.
