Port Huron Fighting Falcons News Release

PORT HURON, MI - The Fighting Falcons fired 37 shots at Warriors' goalie Robert Tadazak, but he had an answer for every single one of them, as Michigan took a 2-0 win in Port Huron's first home game in three weeks.

In his seventh shutout of the season, Tadazak always seemed to be in the right place at the right time, including a pair of spectacular saves to protect his team's lead. With the win, Tadazak now leads all NAHL goaltenders in goals against average (1.95) and save percentage (0.941), the two go-to stats for measuring a goalie's performance.

Peter Megariotis played extremely well in net for the Fighting Falcons, stopping 33 of 35 shots. Megariotis has allowed just four goals in his last three starts. His 145-minute streak with no even-strength goals allowed was snapped early in the second period.

Andrew Kolb continued his success against Port Huron, scoring both Michigan goals on nearly identical plays orchestrated by A.J. White and former Fighting Falcons captain Ryan Green. Both goals came in the second period. Kolb received passes going from Megariotis' right to left each time, cashing in at the far post.

Port Huron carried the play for the majority of the game, with five players getting at least four shots on net, but none were able to get past Tadazak.

The Fighting Falcons will continue to face tough goaltending the rest of this weekend as the Janesville Jets will make their first trip to Port Huron for games tonight and tomorrow at McMorran Arena. Janesville's David Jacobson is the only NAHL goalie with more shutouts (8) than Michigan's Tadazak. The Jets' other goaltender, Tony Kujava beat Port Huron twice in Janesville last weekend, including a 2-0 shutout of his own last Friday.

Attack Zone tickets to all four remaining Fighting Falcons home games are available now at the McMorran Arena Box Office for just $5. The team recently put 2011-12 season ticket packages on sale as well. Tickets in any section at McMorran are available for $150, a savings of up to $60 over last year's Center Ice package. Current season ticket holders will have until the end of March to renew their seats for next year for just $135.

Saturday the Fighting Falcons will continue a Port Huron hockey tradition when they host Star Wars Night. Over 30 characters from the film series will be on hand, and the team will wear one-of-a-kind Star Wars-themed jerseys that will be sold in a silent auction at the West Upper Window during the game. Captains and goalies will have their jerseys auctioned live after the game. The opening bid on these unique collector's items is just $100. All proceeds from the auction will benefit the Blue Water Humane Society.

For more information on ticket prices or this weekend's promotions, call the Port Huron Fighting Falcons office at (810) 966-3800.
