Battle Creek Battle Jacks News Release
EAU CLAIRE, WI - The Battle Creek Bombers committed six errors and fell behind early in a 16-2 loss to the Eau Claire Express Monday night.
After the first two innings of play, the Express already had a 9-0 lead. The Bombers committed two errors in each of those innings, forcing starting pitcher Dan Tyson to leave the game. The struggles continued throughout the night for the defense, as only 7 of Eau Claire's 16 runs were earned. 7 of the 9 starting position players for the Express tallied at least one RBI.
Offensively, a two-run home run by Conor Costello (Arkansas) in the 4th inning was the only time Battle Creek scored. The offense scattered seven hits on the night.
Tuesday night the Bombers will look to salvage a split against the Express. Casey Mulholland (Ole Miss) will be the starting pitcher.
