Pokka, Svedberg Recalled

Chicago, Ill. - The Chicago Blackhawks announced on Friday they recalled defensemen Viktor Svedberg and Ville Pokka from the Rockford IceHogs.

Pokka, 22, of Tornio, Finland appeared in all 76 games for the IceHogs last season and led all IceHogs defensemen with 45 points (10G-35A). In 2014-15 he received Rookie of the Year honors for Rockford after recording eight goals and 22 assists in 68 games.

Svedberg, 25, made his NHL debut last season with Chicago on Oct. 9 at the New York Islanders and tallied his first NHL point with a goal on Oct. 15. In 27 games with the Blackhawks, Svedberg recorded four points (2G, 2A). The 6-foot-9-inch defenseman from Gothenburg, Sweden also played 40 games for Rockford in the 2015-16 season with 15 points (1G, 14A). In 124 career games with the IceHogs Svedberg has compiled 38 points (6G, 32A).

The IceHogs now have 27 players on their training camp roster, including 16 forwards, eight defensemen, and three goalies.
