
Pohl scores two to lead Youngstown to victory

YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO - Petr Pohl scored two goals to lead the Hounds to a 5-2 victory over the Texas Brahmas on Saturday night.
Pohl got it going early as he scored a shorthanded goal at 1:18 to make it 1-0 Hounds. It was Pohl's third shorthanded goal and 10th overall for the season. Texas came right back as Jordan Cameron scored a power play goal just 46 seconds later to make 1-1 after one period. Both teams were 1-7 on the power play.
In the second period Youngstown took the lead as Kevin Jarman scored a power play goal at 7:13 to make it a 2-1 game. Texas needed only 35 seconds to tie the game as Anders Strome beat Brad Roberts for his 15th goal of the year to make it 2-2. Mark Odut was able to put the puck up high on David Cacciola for his first goal of the year at 17:10 to make it 3-2 Youngstown after two periods.
In the third it was Petr Pohl netting his second of the night with a rebound off of an Eric Przepiorka shot to put the Hounds on top 4-2 with 1:41 to play. Jason Baird put added an empty netter to give the Hounds the 5-2 win. Baird has six goals on the season and is on an eight game point streak.
Brad Roberts made 17 saves on 19 shots to preserve the victory for Youngstown. The Hounds improve to 17-6-1 (35 points) and maintain first place in the Northeast Division. The Brahmas are 13-7-1 (27 points) and are in third place in the division. The Hounds take the three game set 2-1 and are now 4-2-0 against Texas this season. These two teams will meet three more times before the playoffs.
