$5 FRIDAYS START FRIDAY: Starting Friday against Ottawa, the Whalers are offering $5 Fridays. Tickets in sections 105-110 of Compuware Arena are being offered for just $5. For more information, call the Whalers box office at (734) 453-8400.
SEGUIN PUTTING UP SEGA-LIKE NUMBERS: Whalers center Tyler Seguin continues to play well, recording his third hat trick of the season and adding two assists last Saturday in the Whalers' 9-2 rout over Sudbury. Seguin leads the Ontario Hockey League in scoring with 14 goals and 11 assists for 25 points over 10 games. Seguin, 17, is still attending high school at the Plymouth-Canton Educational Park.
LOCAL CONTENT: The Whalers have eight players from the Detroit-area, including Josh Bemis (Clarkston), Austin Levi (Farmington Hills), Austin Mattson (Livonia), Myles McCauley (Sterling Heights), Beau Schmitz (Howell), RJ Mahalak (Monroe), AJ Jenks (Wolverine Lake) and Tyler J. Brown (Westland). Add nine, if you count Stefan Noesen, who grew up in Plano, TX, but now lives in Northville.
WHALERS PINK OUT! FOR BREAST CANCER HAPPENS OCTOBER 24: The Whalers annual Pink Out! For Breast Cancer Awareness happen Saturday, Oct. 24 against the Belleville Bulls. The Whalers will be wearing special pink jerseys for the event and the entire team will be dying their hair pink.
