Playoffs: Everything You Need to Know
May 3, 2023 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
San Diego Seals News Release
Ladies and gentlemen, the postseason is upon us.
The NLL will be utilizing an eight-team playoff format, showcasing the top four teams from the East Conference and the top four teams from the West. In the East, the standings are #1 Buffalo Bandits, #2 Toronto Rock, #3 Halifax Thunderbirds, and #4 Rochester Knighthawks. The West is represented by #1 San Diego Seals, #2 Calgary Roughnecks, #3 Panther City Lacrosse Club, and #4 Colorado Mammoth.
After having wrapped up the regular season this past weekend, the #1 seed San Diego Seals are gearing up to face off against a team they took down just days ago, the #4 seed Colorado Mammoth. The single-elimination Quarterfinal match will be the first round of the 2022-23 playoffs, and the Seals will play host at Pechanga Arena on Friday May 5. Click HERE for tickets.
The remaining Quarterfinal games will be completed by May 6, and will determine the top 4 teams going into the Semifinals. If San Diego wins on Friday vs. Colorado, they will face off against the winner of the Panther City/Calgary game at home on Thursday, May 11 for game 1 of the Semifinals. The Semifinals Finals will be a best of three series. The 2nd game will take place May 13, and if necessary, game three to take place on May 20.
Following the Semifinals come the Finals, where we will see the conference champions take the turf for another best of three rounds. These games are set to begin over Memorial Day weekend.
