Brandon Wheat Kings News Release

Brandon, Manitoba - The Brandon Wheat Kings have announced that tickets for their first two Western Hockey League playoff home games are now on sale to the general public.

The Wheat Kings, who enter the final week of the 2009-10 WHL regular season with a three point lead on the second place Saskatoon Blades in the Eastern Division, will open up their best of 7 Eastern Conference Quarterfinals with games on Friday and Saturday, March 19th and 20th at Westman Place. Puck drop both nights will be 7:30 p.m.

Fans can purchase tickets at the Keystone Centre box office (located in the Pioneer Lounge), by calling 726-3555 or online at ticketmaster.ca

Should Brandon hold on and capture the Eastern Division, the Wheat Kings will enter post-season play as the first or second seed - depending on what happens with the Calgary Hitmen over the course of the final week. The league leading Hitmen are currently three points up on Brandon and six ahead of Saskatoon.

The Wheat Kings, who will play host to the 2010 MasterCard Memorial Cup this May, will close out the regular season with three games this week, beginning Wednesday night against the visiting Moose Jaw Warriors.

Brandon will then bring the curtain down on the regular season with a home and home weekend series with Regina. Following their final road game of the year on Friday, the Wheat Kings will return home to face the Pats on Saturday night. Saturday's game is Fan Appreciation Night and the hockey club has announced that all of its 2010 Award Winners will be unveiled before, during and after the game.
