TONIGHT:
The Ontario Reign (11-5) and Allen Americans (9-6) take to the ice for the fifth match of the Western Conference Finals, and the last home game for Ontario in the series. The winner of this series will face the winner of the Eastern Conference Finals (South Carolina leads Toledo in the series 3-2) in the Kelly Cup Finals. This is the first time both teams have appeared in the Conference Finals in ECHL play; Allen previously won back-to-back President's Cups in the Central Hockey League before joining the ECHL for 2014-15. The Reign and Americans split the regular season series at 1-1-0-0.
WHITE CONTINUES TO BE KEY SNIPER FOR ONTARIO:
Matt White's 10th tally of the postseason on Saturday moved him into a three-way tie with South Carolina's Andrew Rowe and Derek DeBlois for the playoff goal-scoring title, while also increasing his shooting percentage to a conference finals-leading 32.3% on 31 shots on goal.
BIGOS PROVIDING ROCK-STEADY DEFENSE:
After getting his first assist of the postseason on Thursday, Kyle Bigos followed up his performance with another helper on Saturday, and matched his postseason-high plus-minus of +2. The bruising rearguard also leveled Allen's Patrik Valcak during a 4-on-1 situation that led to a breakaway for Ontario on the same shift. After being assessed a playoff-high 14 penalty minutes in Game 1, Bigos has only take one minor penalty in the last three matches.
REGISTER WIDENING LEAD:
Already in possession of the goal-scoring and points (7g-11a) lead among defenseman, Matt Register is now one assist back of South Carolina's Michal Cajkovsky for the assist title among all ECHL blueliners following his three helpers on Saturday night.
