Macon Mayhem News Release
While members of the Macon Mayhem visited with fans at Hud's on Thursday night, they later learned their opponent in the quarterfinal round of the Southern Professional Hockey League President's Cup playoffs.
Louisiana's 3-2 overtime win over the Mississippi RiverKings Thursday moved the IceGators past the Mayhem into a tie for sixth place. That assures that Macon will be the number eight seed and will face the Peoria Rivermen in the opening round.
Dates for the best of three series have not yet been released by the SPHL.
At Hud's, the playoffs were a topic of discussion as were the NHL playoffs and the NCAA Frozen Four men's hockey playoffs with the fans who were eating and playing pool with Mayhem players.
Players posed for pictures and signed pucks for the fans at Hud's. Pool was also a popular way for fans and players to interact.
