Louisiana Swashbucklers News Release
LAKE CHARLES - How do you take a good team and make it great? The Swashbucklers have played well this year, but Head Coach Kip Texada decided to take advantage of the 30 man roster for playoffs and make a few phone calls.
After acquiring offensive lineman, Michael Henry from the Beaumont Drillers, Coach Texada decided to bring back Kendall Shello to complete the defensive line. Shello returns from AL2 and is excited about the championship possibility which speaks volumes for an inaugural season team.
Ted Robison has been signed giving the Swashbucklers three great quarterbacks while Travis Pickering steps up as kicker for the team. Chris Little suffered a pulled hamstring two weeks ago. Ryan Garrison has returned to the team as linebacker and Arthur Goodly adds tremendous strength as defensive back.
"This team will surprise any team we meet in the playoffs", says Coach Texada. "We feel both offensive and defensive lines are stronger than ever. It's gonna be a great post season this year." For playoff ticket information call the Lake Charles Civic Center box office at 491-1432.
