Elmira Jackals News Release
The Elmira Jackals announced today that they have placed defenseman Matt Osborne and left wing Neil Posillico on waivers Thursday afternoon.
Posillico, a native of Syosett, NY, in 23 games for the Jackals scored two goals, was -3, and was second on the Jackals with 132 penalty minutes. The 21-year old was tied for second in the United Hockey League in Major penalties with 16 on the season.
Osborne made just 4 appearances for the Jackals without recording a point or a penalty and the Conn, ONT native had an even rating. Osborne had been on team suspension several times during his Elmira stint, mostly due to roster numbers, and was not been able to break into a consistent roster spot.
With today's moves the Jackals now have three players on waivers, defenseman John Donnelly is back on waivers, which now puts the full roster down to 22 players, with 19 active. Of the three inactive players, defenseman Mark Jerant is on call up with the Hershey Bears (AHL), right wing Greg Koehler is on call up with the San Antonio Rampage (AHL), and right wing Carl Drakensjo remains on 21 day Injured Reserve with a broken leg.
