Player Highlight: #17 Will Hammer

The Aberdeen Wings, proud members of the North American Hockey League begin the 2014-2015 season this week in Blaine, Minnesota for the NAHL Showcase Tournament. Next Friday, the Wings will host the Bismarck Bobcats at the Odde Ice Center for the official home opener.

Today's player highlight focuses on forward #17 Will Hammer. Originally signed by the Wings on November 12th, 2013 to a tender contract, Hammer completed main camp and is currently in Training Camp with other rookies of the Aberdeen Wings. The 6'2", 210 lbs forward brings big size to the front lines. During the 2013 season, Hammer tallied 22 goals and 25 assists for 47 points in 28 games played for St. Cloud Cathedral.

"Will is a solid power forward," said Wings head coach Francis Anzalone. "He competes in all three zones...an A+ individual, and a great competitor who comes from a hard-working family."

Hammer and the rest of the Aberdeen Wings begin action on Wednesday at the NAHL Showcase in Blaine, Minnesota.
