
Pittsfield Suns Get on Top of the Torrington Titans Early But Can't Hang on in 4-2 Loss

The Pittsfield Suns (1-1) came out firing, but couldn't hang on to the lead, ending up on the losing side of a 4-2 ballgame against the Torrington Titans (1-1) on Friday at Wahconah Park.
The Torrington Titans took the lead in the fifth inning on an RBI single by Nick Garland.
The Pittsfield Suns had no answer for Kellen Croce, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Croce held the Pittsfield Suns hitless over four innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out six.
Robbie Hitt improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Torrington Titans. He allowed two runs over five innings. He struck out seven, walked one and surrendered four hits.
Jamin McCann was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 4 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out eight, and allowed three runs.
