
Pittsburgh Xplosion fall at Indiana in OT, 129-120

ANDERSON, IN , March 11, 2007 - Seven players scored in double figures for Pittsburgh (8-34), led by Corey Minnifield's 22 points, but Indiana (21-21) received 75 points from Carl Edwards and Shaun Fountain to edge the Xplosion in overtime 129-120 in Continental Basketball Association action at the Wigwam. Lewis Monroe added 17 points and matched a CBA season-high with 14 assists for the Xplosion.
The Black and Gold jumped out to a quick start on the road winning the opening quarter, 33-24. The Alley Cats, however, stormed back in the second quarter, winning the frame, 36-24, and taking a 60-57 lead at intermission.
Indiana maintained its advantage after the two teams halved the third quarter, 32-32. Pittsburgh, though, played well late in regulation, outscoring the Alley Cats 22-19 in the final frame to knot the game at 111-111 and force overtime.
Shots fell early and often for Indiana in the extra frame as they would take command in OT to defeat Pittsburgh 129-120.
In addition to Minnifield and Monroe, Rob Griffin scored 21 points, Shawn Hawkins and Dajuan Tate tallied 14 apiece, Greg Jenkins scored 13 points, Eric Williams netted 10 and Lawrence Baker scored nine.
Edwards led all scorers with 40 points and Fountain tallied 35. The duo combined to shoot 29-45 from the field.
