
Pittsburgh RiverRats Name Mark Cook Equipment Manager for 2007

The RiverRats are pleased to announce Mark Cook as the teams equipment manager for the 2007 season. "Cookie" will deal with all equipment management, repair, and inventory for the team, as well as assisting the coaching staff with gameday and practice needs. "I am very pleased to have a person with Mark's background and work ethic involved with our franchise this season. I am sure he will do an excellent job working with our players and staff this season," Commented RiverRats Head Coach Shawn Liotta. Cook brings several years of experience as the football equipment manager at nearby Belle Vernon High School, and is an AEMA certified athletic equipment manager. Equipment Manager
Mark Cook is a 1994 graduate of California University of Pennsylvania with a B.S. in secondary education. In addition to his studies at California University, Mark took on a football equipment management position at his alma mater, Belle Vernon Area High School. He maintained this position for 18 years which included the laundering of uniforms, uniform and equipment inventory, issuing and collection of equipment and uniforms and shipping and receiving of equipment. This past year, Mark extended his management to all sports in the Belle Vernon Area School district requiring longer hours and more organization skills. Mark has recently passed the Athletic Equipment Manager Association's (AEMA) exam to receive his certification in equipment management.
