The Hudson Valley Renegades defeated the Williamsport Crosscutters, 2-1, in front of 4,252 fans at Dutchess Stadium tonight. The single run allowed was a season-low for the host Renegades, who evened their 3-game series at 1-1.

Renegades shortstop Derek Dietrich drove in both of his team's runs, as he led off the bottom of the first inning with his third home run in as many games. With his third home run of the season, Dietrich extended his hitting streak to seven games. In the eighth inning, Dietrich drove in teammate Chris Winder with the winning run on a sacrifice fly.

Hudson Valley starter Nate Garcia had the best outing of his professional career, allowing just one unearned run in 5.1 innings of 4-hit baseball. In three starts, Garcia has a 2.25 earned run average in 12 innings.

Winning pitcher Steven Hiscock (2-1) was also outstanding for the Renegades, surrendering just one hit in 2.2 scoreless innings, striking out five, and walking none. Austin Hubbard pitched a perfect ninth inning, earning his team-high fourth save of the season, and keeping his earned run average at 0.00.
