
Pitching, Home Runs Help Wings Beat Pawtucket

FORT MYERS, FL - Taylor Rogers allowed one run over 4.0 innings and four relievers pitched shutout ball the rest of the way as the Rochester Red Wings beat the Pawtucket Red Sox 6-1 Tuesday afternoon at CenturyLink Sports Complex.
Rogers, a Double-A All-Star in 2014 with New Britain, struck out five batters and yielded four base hits without walking a man. He won 11 games for the Rock Cats last season. Lester Oliveros, Stephen Pryor, Ryan Pressly and Michael Tonkin were all solid in relief.
Nate Hanson homered as part of a 3-for-4 day while Tony Thomas and Heiker Meneses also went deep for the Wings, who tallied just six hits.
Rochester travels to Port Charlotte to take on the Durham Bulls at 1 p.m. on Wednesday.
