OGDEN, UT - For the second straight day, the Ogden Raptors scored three runs in the first inning.

Saturday night, they didn't build on their lead and it cost them three extra innings and a 15-12 loss to the visiting Orem Owlz.

After three innings being shutdown by Raptors starter Brett De Geus, the Owlz scored four runs in the fourth and took the lead.

That held until the eighth, when Matt Cogen singled with two out to score Eric Peterson, who walked and stole second base, to tie the game.

Neither team scored in the ninth, so the contest went to extra innings. Orem picked up a run in the top of the 10th, but the Raptors matched it when a two-out ground ball was thrown away.

After the Owlz picked up an seemingly-insurmountable four runs in the 11th, Ogden battled and picked up four of their own to send the game to the 12.

The Owlz, however, batted around in the top of the 12th and scored six runs, while the Raptors could only muster three.

The series finale between the Utah rivals is set for 4:00 Sunday afternoon. The Raptors, with a win, would take the series, three games to one.
