Pirates To Celebrate Talk Like A Pirate Day

PORTLAND, ME- This Friday, September 19th is International Talk Like A Pirate Day and the Portland Pirates are celebrating the event in downtown Portland. From 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Salty Pete, the Pirates mascot will be giving away free Pirates tickets in Monument Square to anyone who approaches him and talks like a pirate!

The Pirates open the 2008-09 season at home on Saturday, October 11th against the Manchester Monarchs at 7:00 p.m.
On Friday morning, fans can also listen to two local radio stations to win tickets to Opening Night. Tune in to the Q Morning Show on Q 97.9FM and WBLM 102.9FM with Captain and Celeste and talk like a pirate and win tickets to Opening Night!
On Friday afternoon, fans can also win tickets on The PM Jab from 3-6 p.m. on 96.3FM with Chris Sedenka. All you have to do is talk like a pirate and you win tickets to Opening Night!
