
Pirates Regular Season Individual Game Tickets Go On Sale Tomorrow

PORTLAND, ME - The Portland Pirates announced today that single game tickets will go on sale this Friday, September 26th at the Cumberland County Civic Center at 10 a.m. Tickets will be available in person at the Civic Center Box Office and at Ticketmaster outlets or by calling the Civic Center Box Office at (207) 775-3458. Tickets to all Pirates' home games start as low as $9.
The Pirates open their 16th American Hockey League season on Saturday, October 11th against the Manchester Monarchs (Los Angeles Kings) at the Cumberland County Civic Center at 7:00 p.m. The first 2,500 fans will receive magnetic schedules and USA Summer Olympian Kevin Eastler will be at the game as part of the Opening Night festivities. The night will also include a great giveaway from U.S. Cellular.
The full promotional schedule for the 2008-09 season will feature new giveaways, including three player bobbleheads nights, team photos, ice scrapers and hats. For the first time in franchise history, the Pirates promotional elements will include the team wearing pink jerseys, Stars and Stripes and Maine Mariners jerseys on selected nights. Additionally, Pirates games will include the new Sudzie Clean Team and the return of popular intermission events, Dodge SCORE-O and NAPA Chuck-A-Puck. The full promotional schedule will be announced on Friday, September 26th at www.portlandpirates.com.
Entering the Pirates first year under the new affiliation with the Buffalo Sabres, head coach Kevin Dineen will remain behind the bench along with assistant coach, NHL veteran and UMaine Black Bear, Eric Weinrich. The Pirates line-up could also include another familiar face and last year's captain Tyler Bouck who signed a contract with the Buffalo Sabres in the off-season. Fans may also see Buffalo's top prospects, Chris Butler, Michael Funk, Nathan Gerbe, Tim Kennedy and Mike Kotska in Portland during the course of the upcoming season.
Season ticket plans for the 2008-09 season are on sale now at the Pirates office, located at 94 Free Street in Portland. Fans can also purchase reserved seating ticket plans for 10 games, 20 games and the full season for as low as $70. The Pirates office is open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Fans can also purchase tickets over the phone by calling (207) 828-4665 x350 or by emailing tickets@portlandpirates.com.
