
Pirates Make It Eight Straight Wins After Defeating Barnstormers, 55-19

The Massachusetts Pirates offense was too strong for the Iowa Barnstormers. The Massachusetts Pirates (11-3) won over the Iowa Barnstormers (6-6) on Saturday, August 21st. The Pirates won 55-19 in Massachusetts.
To start the first quarter, the Iowa Barnstormers took control of the offense right away. QBÃÂ Daquan NealÃÂ was able to findÃÂ Ju'an WilliamsÃÂ for a first down, followed by another first down byÃÂ Elad CovaliuÃÂ to give the Barnstormers their first touchdown. PAT byÃÂ Gabriel RuiÃÂ was good and the Barnstormers led the Pirates 7-0 with 10:23 left in the first quarter. The Pirates offense then found themself in scoring position after WR Laquvionte Gonzalez rushed to the 12-yard line putting them in prime scoring position. QB Alejandro Bennifield found WR Thomas Owens in the end zone for a touchdown. The PAT by Ali Mourtada was good and the Pirates tied the game 7-7. The Barnstormers tried to do something on offense but were cut short by the Pirates defense. Kicker Rui came in and scored the PAT to put the Barnstormers up 10-7. The Pirates QB Bennifield was able to quickly find WR Owens to put them in front of the Barnstormers 13-10 to end the first quarter.
To start the second quarter, the Iowa Barnstormers started on offense. In an attempt to get to the end zone, DB Santos Ramirez from the Pirates was able to return a fumble and rush to the endzone for a 12-yard touchdown. PAT was no good but the Pirates led the Barnstormers 19-10 with 12:17 left in the half. At the 24-yard line Rui was able to complete the PAT to give them the extra three points. Following the successful PAT by the Barnstormers, the Pirates offense was ready to score. The Pirates WR Laquvionte Gonzalez scored on a 50-yard kickoff return. The extra point was good and the Pirates led the Iowa Barnstormers 26-13. The Pirates QB was able to find Owens at the other end of the field to give them a first down and put them in scoring position. Bennifield handed it over to RB Justin Stockton to give them the touchdown. PAT by Mourtada was good and the Pirates led the Barnstormers 33-13. On the kickoff, Mourtada scores two, to put the Pirates up 35-13.
The third quarter was not nearly as exciting as the first half. Both teams were unable to score on a touchdown but kicker Mourtada for the Pirates was able to complete 30-yard and 44-yard field goals to put the Pirates up 41-13 going into the fourth quarter. With 8:22 left in the quarter, Aarion Penton finds the interception to give the Pirates another chance to score. With 4:35 left in the game, Pirates QB finds Owens in the endzone for another touchdown. PAT was good and the Pirates led the Iowa Barnstormers 48-13. Barnstormers did not give up though. With 2:15 left in the game, Donovan Rasberry was able to find the endzone to give them 6 points. The Pirates still led 48-19. Right after Iowa's touchdown, the Pirates WR Owens was able to rush into the endzone for a touchdown. PAT was good and the Pirates would finish the game with a 55-19 victory over the Iowa Barnstormers.
The Pirates offense dominated tonight's game and they won 55-19 over the Iowa Barnstormers in Massachusetts.
