Pirates Ink All Pac-12 Performer

The Massachusetts Pirates have signed former University of Utah running back Tavion Thomas for the 2024 season. Thomas played for the Utes for two seasons and was a First Team All-Pac-12 selection when he ran for 1,108 yards on 204 carries and led the conference with a school record setting 21 rushing touchdowns in 2021.

That season, the 6'0", 230 lb. product of Dayton, OH had five games where he gained 100 or more yards. His top performances were in a win over Stanford where he rushed for 177 yards and four touchdowns and he scored four more times while running for 160 yards in a victory against UCLA. In the postseason he ran for 63 yards and scored twice in the Pac- 12 title win over Oregon. He also scored two touchdowns in a losing effort against Ohio State in the Rose Bowl. In 2022 with Utah he ran 142 times for 687 yards and scored seven rushing touchdowns.

Thomas began his career at the University of Cincinnati. From 2018 through 2019 he appeared in 14 games with the Bearcats and ran for 698 yards with seven touchdowns.

In the 2020 season Thomas played four games at Independence Community College before enrolling at Utah.

In his Division One career, Thomas played in 37 games, running for 2,484 yards on 475 carries for an average of 5.2 per rush with 35 touchdowns while adding ten receptions for 50 yards.
