Pirates Add WR Jalin Marshall

WORCESTER, MA - The Massachusetts Pirates have activated wide receiver Jalin Marshall off the exempt-CFL list.
Marshall, who signed with the Pirates before the start of the season, re-joins the team after signing with the Edmonton Elks of the Canadian Football League.
Marshall appeared in one game for the Elks and had one reception for 16 yards against the British Columbia Lions. In that game he also returned three punts for 37 yards and six kickoffs for 112 yards for an average of 16.9 per return.
The 5'10," 200 lb. former NFL wideout and kick returner out of Ohio State had signed with the Pirates in January of this year.
Marshall, who hails from Middletown OH, played previously in the CFL with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats appearing in nine games from 2019 through 2021 making ten receptions for 159 yards. He also had one rush that resulted in a five yard touchdown. Marshall returned two kickoffs for 23 yards for Hamilton.
After playing two years with the Ohio State Buckeyes, (winning a National Championship in 2014), Marshall began his pro career as an undrafted free agent in 2016, signing with the New York Jets and saw action in ten games. Marshall finished the season with 14 receptions for 162 yards and two scores. He also returned 13 kickoffs for 324 yards and 18 punts for 100 yards.
In 2017 he was a member of the Jets practice squad and remained under contract until April of 2018. The following season he signed with the Orlando Apollos of the Alliance of American Football. After the AAF ceased operations, Marshall signed for a brief time with the Oakland Raiders.
