Pirate Parrot Serves up Lunch

BRADENTON, FL - The Pittsburgh Pirates and Bradenton Marauders are excited to announce their 2011 Parrot and Marty PARRty running from February 14th to the 18th.

Between January 24th and February 8th local businesses can register to have the Pirates' Parrot and Marty the Marauder bring lunch to their office in anticipation of Spring Training baseball. Businesses can sign-up to be picked by contacting Autumn Stroup at Autumn.Stroup@Pirates.com. Five winning businesses will be selected at random and notified on February 11th in order to set up their lunch date.

Lunch for a maximum of 12 employees will be provided by Mixon Fruit Farms and will include sandwiches, chips, cookies and drink products provided by Pepsi. Lunch will be delivered at noon to one business daily for the week of February 14th.

"We are all really excited for the start of Spring Training and the Marauders' season," said Pirates Senior Director of Florida Operations Trevor Gooby. "This is a fun way to get local businesses and the community excited and anticipating the start of baseball."

Registration for the pARRty is also available at the January 27th 'Business After Hours' Chamber of Commerce event at McKechnie Field. That event is at 5pm. The February 8th Manatee Chamber Coffee Club at Pirate City will also have a registration opportunity.
