Walla Walla Sweets News Release
WALLA WALLA, Wash- The Walla Walla Sweets were unable to get the win in the second game of the series vs Yakima Valley, as the Pippins would clinch the series victory 9-3. The Sweets now sit two games below .500 at 9-11 on the year.
The contest started off with great pitching from Dylan Matsuoka for the Sweets and Tyler Frieders for Yakima Valley. Matsuoka would go scoreless for three inning only allowing one hit. However in Matsuoka's fourth and fifth innings of work he would allow five runs to go by which were the first he's led up all year long.
Frieders would shut the Sweets down not allowing the Sweets to get a hit for the first five innings. The Sweets would break up the no-hitter in the fifth with Jared Mazzaferro. Walla Walla wouldn't find a run till they trailed 9-0 and the hill was ultimately too steep for the Sweets to climb.
