Pioneers to hold tryout at Ravens' facility

Wilkes-Barre, PA - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers are pleased to announce the second free agent tryout camp for the team's upcoming 2004 season has been scheduled for Sunday, March 14th at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Maryland - home of the NFL's Baltimore Ravens.
"The Ravens have been very good to us over the last three years, due in large part to their relationship with our Operator, Greg Smith," said Pioneers President Dave Berryman. "This will be a great opportunity for us to utilize a first-class facility and continue our search for the best talent available."
"We're setting the bar pretty high this year," said Head Coach Les Moss. "This tryout will allow us to evaluate players from outside of Pennsylvania whom we might have otherwise overlooked."
Several Pioneers' players were discovered through past free agent tryouts, including former Notre Dame kicker Stefan Schroffner, 2003 Most Improved Player Glester Thorpe, and 2002 Team MVP John Knust.

*The Pioneers must receive early registration payments no later than Friday, March 12*
Participants may also pay the standard $50.00 registration fee via cash or money order on the day of the tryout. Credit cards and personal checks will NOT be accepted on the morning of March 14th.

9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.: Testing and individual drills

What to expect:
After registration, you will be tested in speed and agility drills. You will also be evaluated by the Pioneers' coaching staff in drills specific to your position.

From I-95 --
Take 395 to downtown, exit at the Russell Street exit. At the end of the exit ramp make a left on to Lee Street. Make a left at the first light, Russell Street. Proceed through the first light at Hamburg Street and exit to the right off of Russell just after the light. Follow the roadway until it's end at Ostend Street. Make a left and then another left almost immediately. The entrance to Lot D will be on your right.
From I-295 --
Upon your approach to Baltimore, make a right at the first light on I-295, Haines Street. There is a gas station on your right. Make the first left at Warner Street. Follow Warner until it ends at Ostend Street. Make a left, then a quick right. The entrance to Lot D will be on your right.
Parking for the tryout will be available in Lot D of M&T Bank Stadium. Lot D is located on the south side of the stadium.
The entrance you will be using is the Media Gate, which is located between Gates C and D.
Family members and friends are permitted in the stadium, but not on the field. No food or beverages are permitted inside the stadium. Restrooms will be available on the concourse.
