Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers News Release

Wilkes-Barre, PA- The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers will be having an open house and scrimmage Friday, March 25 that will be held at the Wachovia Arena. Doors to the arena will open at 1:00 pm.

The scrimmage is an open house event for all of the Pioneers fans, as well as an opportunity for those who have not experienced arena football, to come and see what is in store for the 2005 season. Admission to the event is free! In an effort to reach out to the community, the Pioneers organization is requesting that all who attend bring a canned or non-perishable good to the game. All goods will be donated to St. Vincent DePaul’s soup kitchen on Church Street in Wilkes-Barre.

“This is a great opportunity for the Pioneers organization to, once again, give back to the community in which we live,” said GM/President Dave Berryman. “It is important to give back to the community when you can. We feel this scrimmage is a great way to get our fans involved as well.”

The Pioneers will be hosting the Albany Conquest as well as the Manchester Wolves. The scrimmage will be divided into three halves. Albany and Manchester will play the first half, with the Pioneers warming up at half time. The Pioneers will then play Manchester for the Wolves’ second half, followed by Albany for the final half of football.

Pioneers’ single game and season tickets are now available. Anyone interested in purchasing single game or season ticket should contact the team’s ticket sales office at either (570) 270-5811 or (570) 270-5813. Single game tickets are available for as little as $7 and season tickets are available for as little as $40.
