Steeldogs Assigned Former Tide Receiver Dre Fulgham

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham Steeldogs, in coordination with the af2, have announced the assignment of Dre Fulgham to the 2005 team roster.

Fulgham graduated from the University of Alabama after lettering for the Crimson Tide from 2000 to 2003. He played in 45 games for Alabama, catching 63 passes for 1,068 yards and seven touchdowns.

In his senior season, Fulgham led the Tide with 30 catches for 475 yards and four touchdowns. As a junior, the wide receiver caught 30 passes for 505 yards and three touchdowns.

"Dre is an exceptionally talented athlete who I believe can excel here with the Steeldogs," Head Coach Bobby Humphrey said. "I am looking forward to having this young man in camp with us."

Fulgham played for four coaches during his tenure in Tuscaloosa: Mike Dubose, Dennis Franchione, Mike Price and Mike Shula. He becomes the second Crimson Tide player to be signed by Birmingham's Hometown Team in two weeks, joining former teammate Andrew Zow.

The Steeldogs are just weeks away from kicking off their historic sixth season in the Magic City. On Saturday, April 9, Birmingham plays host to the San Diego Riptide in the first meeting between the two teams. The fun is set to begin at 7 p.m. at the BJCC Arena.
