Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers News Release

Wilkes-Barre, PA - Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers Head Coach Rich Ingold is attempting to reach his 40th win in the af2 against the Tulsa Talons this Saturday at the Wachovia Arena. The Pioneers are looking to maintain their undefeated record, and keep their five game winning streak alive, while helping Ingold reach this career milestone.

Ingold has a track record of success in arena football. Ingold started in the af2 as head coach for the Quad City Steamwheelers from 2002-2004. While with the Steamwheelers, his team qualified for the playoffs each year. In 2004 the Steamwheelers boasted a league best record of 14-2.

Ingold's overall head coaching record is 39-14, making him one of the most victorious coaches in af2 history. If the Pioneers win this Saturday against Tulsa it will make Coach Ingold one of only six af2 head coaches to have won 40 wins in Arenafootball2 history.

"I have been real fortunate to have coached some outstanding players," said Head Coach Rich Ingold. "We expect many more wins to come."

Since taking over head coaching duties for the Pioneers, Ingold has lead the Pioneers to their best start in franchise history winning all five games. The Pioneers are the only undefeated team in af2 and have been ranked #1 in the af2 coach's poll for three consecutive weeks.

Individual tickets are still on sale now by calling the Pioneers office at 570-270-5811 or 570-270-3848. You can also purchase tickets at the Wachovia Arena box office. Individual tickets start just as low as $7.
