Streaks: Battlewings L5, Dusters W2
Coaches: John Fourcade, Bossier Battlewings
Steve Perdue, Amarillo Dusters

THE STAKES: The Dusters are riding high after upsetting back-to-back top 5 ranked teams in the Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz and the Arkansas Twisters. Those two victories avenged previous losses to the Dawgz and Twisters as well, and provided the Dusters with a divisional split with both teams. The Battlewings are looking for their first victory of the 2006 season.

COACH PERDUE'S THOUGHTS ON THE BOSSIER:
"They are playing solid defense. They allowed only 47 points to Florida and only 45 to Rio Grande Valley, and both of those teams are capable of putting 80 points on the board. For us, we have to come out with the same focus and intensity up front that we did last week, and put pressure on their quarterback for 4 quarters. If we do that, good things will happen for us. Offensively, we've got to do a better job in the red zone. We haven't been able to put touchdowns on the board like we need to. We also have to be more consistent on first and second down, so we aren't looking at 3rd and long so often. We still haven't played a complete game in all three phases, and we must do that this week. Florida was undefeated last year, and walked into Bossier City and got knocked off. We want the win."

TRENTON JORDAN MAKES SUDDEN IMPACT:
Dusters D-Line Specialist Trenton Jordan earned af2 Defensive Player of the Week honors for his performance in his debut against the Twisters. He had 3 tackles, 2 sacks, 1 forced fumble and a 38-yard fumble return for a touchdown, sparking the Dusters victory over Arkansas.

KEY MATCHUP: BALL CONTROL OFFENSE VS. BALL CONTROL OFFENSE
In 5 games this season, the Battlewings have averaged 30:48 in time of possession on offense (good for 12th in af2), while the Amarillo Dusters have managed to keep the ball 33:59 per game (ranked 1st overall). Both teams focus on keeping the ball moving on offense while allowing their defense to remain fresh.

LOOKING TO MAKE HISTORY
When Dusters' QB Steve Panella and WR/LB Derek Watson take the field on Saturday night, they will be making international history. Last season, Panella got international recognition as he started against the Battlewings in Amarillo on June 25th, becoming the first international quarterback to start a game in af2 history. Derek Watson (6'3, 210) is a former college teammate of Panella's at St. Mary's University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He will see his first action of the 2006 season on Saturday, filling in for Patrick Lindsey who has a mild hamstring pull.
