CHESTER, Pa. - Philadelphia Union II faced off against New York Red Bulls II at MSU Soccer Park on Sunday evening, winning 2-1. In the first half, Union II applied the pressure from the start and created plenty of attacking opportunities. In the 20th minute, Union II found their breakthrough when forward Jose Riasco made a run into the box, taking on multiple defenders and sliding the ball to forward Nelson Pierre who finished the attacking move to put the side up 1-0. Forward Nelson Pierre then continued to shine and doubled the lead before the half, scoring from a counter attacking opportunity to complete his first half brace. In the 77th minute, New York forward Ricardo Gorday converted from the penalty spot to make it 2-1. Union II were able to hold onto their 2-1 lead with a great attacking display to take all three points and secure their second road win of the season.
