
Phoenix Rising FC Acquires Four Players on Loan from LAFC

(PHOENIX) Mar. 14, 2019 - Phoenix Rising FC announced today that it has acquired four players on loan, pending league and federation approval, from Major League Soccer club Los Angeles Football Club - defenders Shaft Brewer Jr. and Tristan Blackmon, midfielder Javier Perez and forward Josh Perez. LAFC will retain the right to recall all four at any point during the MLS regular season.
Brewer Jr., Blackmon and Josh Pérez all made appearances with Rising FC during the 2018 season.
Brewer Jr., 19, appeared in 10 contests during the 2019 Rising FC season including two USL Cup playoff games.
Blackmon, 22, started eight regular season games for Rising FC in 2018 along with three of the four USL Cup playoff games.
Pérez, 21, appeared in one game for Rising FC during a brief loan spell in 2018.
Perez, 22, was selected 64th overall by LAFC in the 2019 MLS SuperDraft.
All four players are expected to be available for selection Saturday night when Rising hosts New Mexico United in the Phoenix Rising home opener. Kickoff is slated for 7:30 p.m. The 2019 Phoenix Rising FC season is presented by Equality Health.
