
Phoenix Mercury Signs Lynetta Kizer

PHOENIX - The Phoenix Mercury has signed 6-4 center Lynetta Kizer to a seven-day contract, the club announced today. Kizer joined the team today and will be available to play Saturday against the Atlanta Dream.
A graduate of Maryland University ('12), Kizer was selected by the Tulsa Shock in the third round (29th overall) of the 2012 WNBA Draft. She appeared in seven games for the Shock this season before being waived on June 18.
As a senior at Maryland, Kizer was named the 2012 ACC Sixth Player of the Year, averaging 11.4 points and 5.6 rebounds for the 31-5 Terrapins. She was named to the ACC All-Tournament First Team and was an All-ACC Honorable Mention. Over a four-year career, Kizer averaged 12.2 points on 48.6 percent shooting and 7.2 rebounds per game. Kizer will wear No. 12 for the Mercury.
