Northern Arizona Suns News Release
PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - The Phoenix Suns announced today they have assigned guard Ty Jerome to the Northern Arizona Suns. This is Jerome's first career assignment to the NBA G League.
Jerome (6-5, 195 pounds) was a first round draft pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, selected 24th overall by Philadelphia before being acquired by the Phoenix Suns in a trade after the draft. The 22-year-old rookie has not appeared in a regular season game yet for the Phoenix Suns due to a right ankle sprain.
Jerome helped lead Virginia to the school's first ever national title last year. Overall in his three years at Virginia, he averaged 9.6 points, 3.7 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 1.2 steals in 105 games (75 starts).
The Northern Arizona Suns next play Tuesday, as they'll host the Iowa Wolves at the Findlay Toyota Center at 6:30 p.m. MT.
