
Drive's Win Streak Snapped by BayHawks

GRAND RAPIDS, MI - The Grand Rapids Drive (6-3) had their five-game winning streak ended by the Erie BayhHawks (3-5) on Monday night after finding themselves on the wrong end of a 117-100 final score. The Drive struggled early but fought to make a comeback late to cut Erie's lead to single digits early in the fourth, but were unable to maintain momentum.
The BayHawks had several big performances Monday night that led to their victory, with three finishing with double-doubles. Pelicans two-way players Zylan Cheatham (24 points & 13 rebounds) and Josh Gray (20 points & 11 assists) both secured double-doubles on the night, followed up by big man Kavell Bigby-Williams with 18 points & 14 rebounds. Other BayHawks in double digits were Jalen Adams (19 points & 5 assists), Taren Sullivan (11 points & 4 rebounds) and Denver Nuggets assignee Vlatko Cancar (10 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists & 2 steals).
Pistons two-way player Louis King kept the Drive in the game with an impressive 24 points, 5 assists, 3 rebounds & 2 steals. Big man Donta Hall earned yet another double-double on the young season, finishing with 12 points,12 rebounds & 3 blocks. The Drive had several other players finish in double figures, including Adam Woodbury (12 points & 7 rebounds), Pistons rookie Sekou Doumbouya (12 points & 3 blocks), Craig Sword (11 points, 5 assists & 5 steals) and Pe'Shon Howard (11 points, 5 rebounds & 3 assists).
Comparably, the Drive and the BayHawks went head-to-head when it came to statistics across the board, but the BayHawks were ultimately able to keep the Drive shooting just 43% from the field and 10% (2-20) from the three-point line, resulting in the BayHawks leading by as many as 23 points throughout the game.
Both teams will rest up tomorrow as they'll face each other again Wednesday night at DeltaPlex Arena. Tip-off is at 7 p.m.
